Neighborhood Watch Reminders
Recently a message was
posted on the neighborhood website and an e-mail message
sent to those who have provided their e-mail address
alerting of break-ins in surrounding neighborhoods. This
included two houses in the neighborhood behind Windsong
Valley and a couple of houses in Silo Glen. Windows were
broken to gain entry and a shed was broken into.
Fortunately, these were not in Kimmon Place, but they were
so close that they may as well have been. Everyone needs to
be diligent and look out for each other. Here are a few tips
that you should follow that may help:
-
Lock your car when you
are not using it, a couple of years ago we did have several
cars that had items stolen from them.
-
Keep your house locked
even or perhaps especially when you are in the house.
-
Keep your garage door
closed and locked when you are not in the garage.
-
Get to know your
neighbors and their routines. If you are going out of town
or have a change in your normal routine, let your neighbors
know.
-
If
you see something that does not look normal, check it out.
You can try and call
the neighbor. You probably don't want to confront someone,
but if it doesn't look right and your neighbor is not there,
call the police. Let them sort it out. (Someone heard
something when one of the break-ins occurred. They didn't do
anything and now they feel guilty.)
-
We are hoping to have a
representative from the Sheriff's office at our next
neighborhood meeting to discuss neighborhood watch. If you
have any suggestions or ideas, please
submit them so
that everyone can benefit.

Motorcycles and Noise There have been
several complaints about speeding motorcycles and dirt bikes
and noise. Your neighbors in many cases have young children
who go to bed early. Parents who allow their children to
have these motorcycles are responsible for their kid's
behavior. No motorcycles are allowed in the neighborhood
common areas. In addition to the noise and liability issues
they tear up the turf. Other than the common areas, which
are neighborhood business, the HOA has no specific authority
and can only appeal to the offenders to be considerate of
their neighbors. The alternative is to call the police!
